Consuming responsibly (MOOC)
Project objective : To create for Université Paris Ouest Nanterre La Défense (UPOND) a three-minute teaser video prensenting the MOOC (massive open online course) “consuming responsibly” to help viewers understand the challenge of sustainable consumption and to incite them to sign up for the course.
About the MOOC “consuming responsibly” : this 6-steps course over 6 weeks aims at teaching participants the connections between our daily consumption habits and their associated social and environmental impacts as a way to emphasize the need to reinvent our business models to become sustainable. Click here to watch the video on the “France Université Numérique” website. This course is for all people interested in implementing sustainable development: professionals, teachers, students and each and everyone of us. Weekly themes are addressed with short real life testimonials in order to show a variety of the challenges at stake.
Creation of the video: Béatrice Bellini and the MOOC team wrote the original script and I provided comments and feedback to make the script work as well as possible in an illustrated video that would meet the objectives: create an incentive for people to sign up for the course in an engaging way. Once the script was finalized and approved, I drew the illustrations and put them together in a storyboard for feedback. Once the drawings approved, I recorded the video as usual, drawing on my screen while recording it as a video. Then I accelerated everything and edited the video with Final Cut Pro X, synchronized the drawings with the voice-over (recorded by professional voice talent Katia Goldmann) and the music (Summer Meadows by Adam Drake).
