Project objective: To create for SGS a 4-minute video presenting the sustainability highlights for year 2014 using illustrations and sustainability mascot Lëss the polar bear (Do more with Lëss). The video should include sustainability awards won by SGS, the main sustainability achievements and focus areas for 2015 articulated around the four sustainability pillars: People, Professional Excellence, Environment and Community. The video should be informative, engaging and make people want to read more in the sustainability report.
About SGS: SGS is the world’s leading inspection, verification, testing and certification company. They are recognized as the global benchmark for quality and integrity. With more than 80,000 employees, they operate a network of more than 1,650 offices and laboratories around the world.
Video making process: Sustainability consultant Sarah Brooks led the script writing with the contribution of CSR consultant Nicky Amos. Once the video script was finalized and approved, I sketched illustrations organizing the video in 5 scenes and put them all in a storyboard for review and feedback. Once the drawings approved, I recorded them in video as usual, drawing on my screen while recording it as a movie. Then all the footage was edited in Final Cut Pro X, accelerated and synchronized with the narration (recorded by professional voice actor Vincent Tong) and music (Water lily by 126ers and Where I am from by Topher Mohr and Alex Elena from the YouTube audio library).
