Project objective: To create with Algonquin College a 4-minute video presenting what it means to apply a sustainability lens on a daily basis. This video is part of a sustainability education project at Algonquin College and supported by Siemens Canada.
Video making process: Sarah Dehler (sustainability coordinator) wrote the original draft script with a team of colleagues from Algonquin College Academic Services and sent it to me for feedback and comments. I suggested a few modifications to make it fit as an illustrated video. Once the scrit was approved, I drew the illustrations and packaged them in a storyboard to show how illustrations would appear with the voice-over. We went back and forth a couple of times to finalize them. Once the storyboard approved, I recorded the drawings from scratch while recording the screen in video (see inside the creation of my videos for more details). Then I accelerated the drawing footage, synchronized drawings with the voice-over (recorded by professional voice talent Vincent Tong) and put together the final video with a background music.
